Exciting news from PEMD Europe 2025!
We’re proud to share that Professor Sandra Eriksson from Upsala University presented BEETHOVEN project results at the IET’s PEMD Europe 2025 conference held in Turin, Italy (11–12 June).
Her talk, “Defining magnetic properties required for rare earth element free permanent magnets for electric vehicles“, highlighted the technical requirements and performance benchmarks necessary for rare earth-free magnets to compete with existing solutions. The results represent a significant step forward in enabling scalable, sustainable electrification of transport without reliance on critical raw materials.
Organized by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the PEMD conference series brought together global experts in power electronics, electric machines, and drives to share advances, exchange ideas, and shape the future of electrification.
The event attracted more than 70 attendees including researchers, academics and students.
